In 2018, I was one of the first Filipino Americans elected to South San Francisco’s City Council. In that short time, the City Council increased the minimum wage, banned sales of e-cigarettes in general stores, created more affordable housing, provided financial assistance for those affected by COVID-19, and established a $300,000 Innovation Fund protecting essential Parks and Recreation programs serving families and marginalized communities.
We’ve accomplished much, but there’s more to do. As your District 2 Councilmember, I will work to expand affordable childcare, reduce the digital divide, continue South San Francisco’s financial recovery from COVID-19, and ensure that Westborough has a voice.
I’ve been a resident for over 30 years. My wife and I are raising two young children in Westborough. As a former Senior Aide for Assemblymember Gene Mullin and Congresswoman Jackie Speier, I’ve assisted seniors, veterans, and families. I brought this same passion as your Councilmember. As a former City Commissioner, Legislative Aide, and now at a non-profit housing agency, I’ve advocated for working-class families.
I’m endorsed by Federal, State, County, and local elected officials, business owners, and residents. I will continue to ensure that the needs and concerns of Westborough are heard. I ask for your vote on November 3. Please visit marknagales.com to learn more.
