The power of the library card… Libraries have been a big part of my life. Both of my parents worked two jobs, so when school was over, I could have gone home and played video games. Instead, I chose to go to the library. Every day that I was at the library, I was able to learn about exotic places and let my imagination run wild with science fiction stories. But probably my favorite memory is playing with the microfilm at Orange Library and learning about the history of South City.
Now my children get to enjoy the library storytimes, MakerSpace, and superhero costume competitions (Josie won as Wonder Woman!). As Councilmember, I will make sure that our libraries continue to be a shining beacon of knowledge.
That’s why I’m proud to have the endorsement of President Diane Huddleston and Secretary Valerie Lambertson of the SSF Library Board. I’m also glad to add Andrea Carey Villa and her son Benjamin Villa III to the growing list of SSF residents and community leaders. Please visit marknagales.com to learn more about my candidacy.
